2、te both menstruation and lactation. Though Chinese Pharmacopoeia (2005 editon) VolumnⅠprescripts its source is from the vine of Clematis armandii Franch.and C. montana Buch.-Ham.,according to literature and reference boo

3、ks, there are more than 10 same generic plants are also used as Chuan Mutong in China. Based on the textual research, the drug commodities of Chuan Mutong from 10 different provincial herb markets are collected and authe

4、nticated. On the other hand, combined with field investigation, specimen consultation and other relative materials, we organized the morphological characters, distributing and ecological enviroments of the plants (in Cle

5、matis, Ranunculaceae), which are used as Chuan Mutong in above-mentioned markets. So that we can further grasp the origin plants involved in drug commodities of Chuan Mutong. The acute toxicity of Clematis armandii’s ste

6、m is investigated by the experiment of Maximal tolerated dose on mice.The result shows that the maximal tolerated dose for mice is 532g/kg, which is 5320 times of human daily use,and there were no death and toxic reactio

7、n in 7 days of observation.So, we tentatively think that Clematis armandii’s stem has comparative safety in clinical use. It’s the first time to use the efficacy of inducing diuresis as evaluation index to screen the eff

8、ective part of Clematis armandii’s stem. We also compared different kinds of Mutong’s ability to promote diuresis and tentatively probe into Clematis armandii ’s diuresis mechanism by study the change of the content of e
